The Academic Team at Impact Genius is central to our educational offerings, focusing on delivering high-quality, impactful learning experiences. This team consists of dedicated instructors and startup mentors/advisers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in various fields related to AI and entrepreneurship. They guide participants through innovative curricula and provide hands-on mentorship to aspiring innovators and tech entrepreneurs.​

Positions on the Academic Team are highly selective and limited, aiming to ensure that our faculty comprises individuals who are not only leaders in their fields but also passionate educators who can effectively transfer their knowledge and inspire the next generation of tech leaders.​

Instructor(s)

Instructors at Impact Genius are key figures in our academic team and are responsible for delivering high-quality education in various specialized fields related to AI and technology startup innovation.

 

This role involves developing and delivering lectures and workshops in areas such as business (startup innovation and entrepreneurship), product design/product management, venture capital, intellectual property, technical product development, AI, data, machine learning, ethical AI, human-centered AI, and AI policy.

 

Instructors play a critical role in shaping the knowledge and skills of aspiring AI innovators, making this position ideal for experienced educators and industry professionals passionate about using technology for social good.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development and Instruction: Design and deliver engaging and effective curriculum and instructional materials that meet the learning objectives of Impact Genius programs.

  • Student Engagement and Support: Foster a supportive and interactive learning environment for learners.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to participants, helping them understand complex concepts and apply them in real-world scenarios.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Track student progress and feedback, evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum. Provide constructive feedback to participants on their pitch, startup journey, and other ways to aid their professional growth.

  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the academic team to continuously update and improve educational content based on the latest industry trends, research findings, and pedagogical advancements.

Time Commitment: 2-8 hours per week. Flexible part-time hours, additional time required during active teaching sessions, curriculum development, and assessment.

​

Duration: Annual contract, renewable based on performance and program needs.

Startup Mentor(s)

Startup Mentors/Advisers at Impact Genius are distinguished professionals with extensive experience as founders, investors, researchers, product developers, managers, AI/ ML engineers, and business coaches.

 

This role involves guiding and mentoring participants in group o1 1:1 settings, sharing expertise in areas such as AI, machine learning, entrepreneurship, and various industry sectors.

 

Startup Mentors/Advisers play a crucial role in fostering the development of aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs, contributing significantly to their growth and success in the AI for Good landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide direct mentorship to project groups, sharing insights and expertise to guide their startup development journey and increase their chances of success. 

  • Project Feedback and Support: Offer constructive feedback on projects, helping participants refine their ideas and strategies to better align with technical limitations, industry regulations, and market demands.

​

Time Commitment: Flexible involvement of 1-3 hours per week remotely during program sessions, online or in person.

 

Duration: Annual agreement tied to each program, with the potential for ongoing engagement based on program schedules and needs.
